Esta
noche pudiera ser una Noche Buena en noviembre. El debate de esta
noche puede definir la verdadera calidad de los candidatos en verdaderos
asuntos, no chismes inconsecuentes o bravuconadas, podremos conocer cuáles son
los candidatos que nos resolverán los problemas económicos que nos aquejan con
su materia gris no con un alarde de sus genitales.
Aclarando
esta diferencia biológica tendremos a los moderadores más capacitados sobre
economía en la mediática, y ellos harán las preguntas necesarias a los
candidatos para podernos ilustrar de cuáles son los que nos puedan resolver el
problema. Fox Business es la emisora más informativa e instructiva
en asuntos de economía que existe globalmente. Neil Cavuto tiene las
referencias de experiencia y capacidad para que se respeten sus preguntas, y
aunque Donald Trump no respeta ni a su madre, no tendrá mucha fuerza para
refutar la validez de sus preguntas. Tanto Trump como los otros candidatos
tendrá que exponer de una manera articulada, no demagógica, como piensan
solucionar los problemas que tenemos en los impuestos y la economía que se han
ido deteriorando bajo la vertiente izquierdista que ha infestado a esta
sociedad.
Millones
de personas de la verdadera clase media, nos vemos aplastado entre los
multi-billonarios que no sólo evaden los impuestos con sus abogados
millonarios, pero que bajo esta administración de crony capitalismo, reciben
prebendas del gobierno, y por el otro lado vemos que la mitad de la población
no paga impuestos y millones reciben beneficios que son prebendas no necesarias
para quedar votantes cautivos de la izquierda, y todo con el dinero que pagamos
la otra mitad, los come-excrementos que somos nosotros.
O seas
que la mitad viven como Carmelina sin disparar un chícharo y nosotros pagamos
por ellos, para ustedes los que no son cubanos, esto es una manera que tenemos
nosotros de decir que viven la buena vida sin trabajar.
A
través de los años hemos visto intentos de reformas al sistema impositivo, cómo
el año pasado los planes del flat tax de Forbes y Herman Caín, para ver como
cayeron en el rastro del olvido igual que los candidatos.
Este
año tenemos los planes de Ted Cruz y Rand Paul que son parecidos a los de
Forbes y Caín, y que me parecen muy buenos, aunque la persona de Rand Paul no
me parece muy buena para presidente por ser libertario me gustaría verlo como
secretario del tesoro para que haga algo que promete que es la desaparición de
la burocrática oficina millonaria del Infernal Revenue Service (No es un error
tipográfico, la oficina es infernal no es interna). Hay que matar el
cochino del IRS la próxima nativad de noviembre del 2016.
El otro
programa bueno es el de Rubio, eliminando el Capital gain tax que es un doble
impuesto, y aumentando las rebajas de excepciones para la clase media y baja,
pero es un poco complicado tiene baches para aplicarlo, aunque es bueno e
infinitamente mejor que lo que tenemos, me gusta más el plan de
Cruz-Paul.
Claro
que el mejor de todos los planes es el de Donald Trump, es tan bueno cómo su
plan de inmigración.
El
único problema es que su plan económico como el plan de inmigración es
inaplicable y ni el mismo se lo cree.
Es
simplemente fina y pura demagogia, decir a la gente lo que quiere oír aunque
sepa que no se hará porque no puede hacerse. Es una manera muy vieja
de tomar le el pelo al pueblo, pero como ya hace tiempo que yo no tengo pelo
que tomarme, Trump no puede tomarme el pelo, y lo que le digo es que vaya a
bailar el trompo en Saturday Night Live, y que deje tranquila la contienda para
tener una información más instructiva y constructiva para poder tener una noche
buena este noviembre y una buena navidad en noviembre del 2016.

enojo demagógico: La razón siempre es mejor que el enojo-
Pero cuando el enojo trae una secuela
demagógica, o sea que se utiliza el enojo como una manipulación de los
sentimientos de la gente, especialmente mediante promesas infundadas, para utilizarla
con fines políticos, caemos en la demagogia original que se empleó
originalmente por los regímenes
dictatoriales.
En la antigua Grecia, dictadura original
demagogia era el partido de la plebe. En la Cuba de los años cincuenta
fue la dictadura del fidelismo.
El justo enojo del pueblo con el problema
migratorio nos ha traído un demagogo como Trump, usando un falso enojo con
promesas absurdas e infundadas de cómo resolver el problema inmigratorio. Pero el absurdo es aceptado porque satisface
el enojo.
Aparte del absurdo de la deportación en masa
de millones de inmigrantes ilegales sin estudiar el problema individual de cada
caso, y la absurda teoría de una muralla como la de China y que se forzaría al
gobierno mejicano a pagar por ella, las medidas económicas de Trump en cuanto a
las relaciones comerciales con Méjico, todavía son más absurdas.
Trump está en primer lugar en las encuestas,
por lo tanto parece representar al partido republicano, aunque el 75% lo
rechaza.
Esto crea una percepción negativa a nuestro
partido.
María Anastasia O´Grady es una escritora que

Castro y las políticas de Obama, se los he pasado en diferentes ocasiones, y
siempre me asombra sus conocimientos en cuanto a la política y la economía de

objetivo y razonado.
María Anastasia O´Grady ha escrito numerosos
escritos contra la inmigración ilegal y en cuanto a la culpabilidad del
gobierno de Méjico, pero esto no anula la realidad económica.
Méjico es nuestro tercer socio económico y
con un socio económico se puede negociar con cuidado si es hostil, pero con
inteligencia, no con la estupidez del enojo y el autoritarismo, porque el
resultado nunca es positivo, el resultado de la estupidez es un resultado
estúpido que perjudica al ciudadano americano promedio no a los inmigrantes
ilegales.
El problema migratorio se resuelve con
cualquiera de los candidatos republicanos, todos están conscientes del problema
y todos tienen planes concretos y razonables para resolver la situación, no
necesitamos un dictador autoritario como presidente para resolver un problema
que ha sido creado por otro dictador autoritario.
Al final del escrito nos dice “La agenda de
comercio Sr. Trump es absurdo e invitar a una depresión. Él es demasiado
ignorante en economía para saber lo que es o demasiado cínico para preocuparse
por esto”
Mi opinión es lo segundo
Pero mañana hay un debate republicano en Fox
Business, y los moderadores son la crema y nata de los economistas en la
mediática. Las preguntas serán muy aclaratorias, no se
podrán responder con bravuconadas porque les pedirán respuestas razonadas,
aunque tengan que sufrir el autoritarismo de Trump, y sin lugar a dudas
sufrirán sus ataques.

La producción del producto bruto Fabricación
de Estados Unidos creció en octubre a su ritmo más lento en más de dos años,
según el Institute der Supply Management en datos publicados la semana pasada.
Analistas culpan esto en una economía global débil y un dólar fuerte.
Sin el acuerdo de libre comercio de América
del norte (TLCAN), la producción estaría en peor forma. Pero no se lo digas a
Donald Trump. Si es elegido Presidente, él promete "hacer América grande
otra vez", entre otras cosas, anular el Pacto de comercio de 1994.
Los discursos de campaña der. Trump han
proporcionado algunos detalles sobre cómo piensa gobernar. Pero una promesa
específica que ha hecho varias veces es construir un muro a través de la
frontera con México y obligar a México a pagar por ello.
México no está a punto de pagar
voluntariamente para cualquier dicha pared. Pero el Sr. Trump dice que él puede
hacer que nuestro vecino paga al imponer nuevos aranceles a sus exportaciones a
los Estados Unidos En otras palabras, el Sr. Trump planea lanzar una guerra
comercial con México.
Esto idea absurda y una idea que es peligrosa.
Vamos a empezar con lo dolorosamente obvio: un arancel no es pagado por el
exportador, sino por el importador, que pasa a los consumidores. Por lo que el
dinero para la pared del Sr. Trump saldrá de los bolsillos de los trabajadores americanos.
El Sr. Trump puede pensar que los nuevos
aranceles harán que productos mexicanos resultarán demasiado caros para los
consumidores estadounidenses, y cuando no lo compren, habrá logrado su objetivo
de hacer que México "pagar",
a pesar de que no habrá ningún nuevo ingreso.
Pero también se hará daño a las empresas
estadounidenses, que se convertirá en menos competitivas sin acceso a la
producción mexicana. Y si México, que es el tercer mayor socio comercial de
Estados Unidos — responde con nuevos aranceles propios, los exportadores
estadounidenses también sufrirán.
Es difícil ver cómo
esto podría ser bueno para los estadounidenses.
El "NAFTA ha dado resultado," un
informe el mes pasado por la cámara de comercio de Estados Unidos, comercio
anual de Estados Unidos con Canadá y México es ahora $ 1,3 trillones, casi
cuatro veces mayor que antes del acuerdo. Las exportaciones agrícolas a Canadá
y México han subido un 350% y las exportaciones de servicios de Estados Unidos
se han triplicado. Más de un tercio de las exportaciones de mercancías de los

México es el más intensivo de mano de obra de los tres
Los países del TLCAN, por lo que tiende a
importar componentes, marcas, tecnología y sistemas de distribución de los
Estados Unidos y añade valor proporcionando la mano de obra necesaria para el
montaje.
Esto ha creado un complejo entramado de
cadenas de suministro en un gran número de industrias incluyendo aeroespacial,
automóviles, electrónica, maquinaria y precisión de los instrumentos. Estas
cadenas atraviesan América del norte como las empresas intentan aprovechar
ventajas comparativas. En Septiembre de 2010 documento de trabajo del nacional Bureau of
Economic Research encontró que el 40% del contenido de las importaciones
estadounidenses desde México es producido por los trabajadores de los Estados
Unidos.
"En el sector del automóvil altamente
integrado," la cámara de comercio informe destaca, "es común para los

de Estados Unidos y Canadá ". El resultado ha sido una industria más
competitiva de automóviles de Estados Unidos, según lo evidenciado por un

Famous actor and martial arts expert Chuck Norris has
been on the warpath against Hillary Clinton recently, and now he is
focusing all of his supernatural energy at President Barack Obama.
Obama isn’t running for office again, which means he
can use the last years of his presidency to act like a tyrant and spread our
Constitution even more thin. That’s why Obama has been busy bending the rules
in favor of Democrats for the 2016 election, thanks to a quiet 3-part plan made
to rush new immigration and naturalization. Obama’s DHS and other Federal

First, the Department
of Homeland Security, or DHS, sent letters to all 9,000,000 green-card holders
urging them to naturalize prior to the 2016 election.
PJ Media reported how
it “obtained an internal ‘Dear Colleague’ letter written by Leon Rodriguez, the
‘director and co-chair of the Task Force on New Americans.’ The letter refers
to a White House report called ‘Strengthening Communities by Welcoming All
Residents.’”
PJM added: “Leon
Rodriguez has a tainted history – not only was he a central player in the
radicalization of Eric Holder’s Civil Rights Division, he also ‘undertook a
purportedly illegal search‘ of a government employee’s computer in Montgomery
County, Maryland. (Messy details are at the Washington Post.)”
Then, the second part is granting voting rights for
illegal immigrants given amnesty, through a carefully planned loophole in the
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA):
When it was enacted
in June 2012, Obama told Americans, “Now, let’s be clear – this is not amnesty,
this is not immunity, this is not a path to citizenship.”
But that was then;
this is now. Millions of illegals can now get permanent U.S. citizenship,
thanks to how the DHS is administering the DACA program.
Conn Carroll
explained how DACA has led and will lead to countless illegals with
citizenship: “Here is how the loophole works: Once an illegal immigrant has
been given deferred action status through Obama’s DACA program, he or she can
then apply for ‘advance parole’ status, a status normally given to lawful
immigrants who have a pending green card application but can also show a
pressing need to travel abroad that ‘serves the public interest.’”
Then, Obama has a plan to quickly import more than
500,000 total refugees from the Middle East, to boost Democrats’ political
muscle:
Third, to add insult
to injury, the White House Task Force on New Americans just announced in April
its “federal strategic action plan immigrant and refugee integration.” They
call it: “Strengthening Communities by Welcoming All Residents.”
Their strategy is to
“seed your communities” with at least 70,000 refugees a year, including Iraqis,
Burmese, Bhutanese, Somalis, Cubans, Syrians and others. And the numbers of
Syrians, mostly Muslim, will surpass them all.
This is outrageous! America has a legal immigration
process, with many people waiting in line for years to become American
citizens. What kind of example is our President setting by granting amnesty and
breaking the laws to assist Democrats in the 2016 election?

Brand New ISIS Video Sends Message Straight To Obama- Then Shows Brutal
Executions
The lead murderer
turns his attention to President Obama...
In what has become an
all too common occurrence, members of ISIS have released yet another beheading
video, but this time they have a message directly for President Obama.
This latest crime
against humanity shows ISIS fighters beheading four Kurdish Peshmerga fighters
in purported “revenge” for a recent raid that killed some of their own number.
Among the now banal
rhetoric spewed by these ISIS fighters as they prepare to murder their four
prisoners, Jihadi John, the lead murderer, turns his attention to President
Obama specifically by informing him that the murders they were about to commit
were in revenge for the recent raid on an ISIS torture chamber that freed 70
Iraqi hostages and killed 20 ISIS terrorists.
After the leader was
done with his taunts, the Kurds were murdered as words in Arabic appeared on
the screen that read “Peshmerga soldiers that America came down to rescue.”
Part of the video
also tours the “jail” that ISIS claimed the U.S. forces raided in Hawija, a
town in the northern Iraq province of Kirkuk.
As CNN reports Dindar Zebari, a
spokesman for the Kurdistan regional government, responded to the video saying,
“ISIS respects no form of human rights. Our message to them is that we will finish
them. But we have another message for them. We hold 215 ISIS prisoners and we
treat them according to international human rights laws.”
“We have also freed
85 prisoners who had been suspected of association with ISIS. We do not kill
our prisoner,” Zebari concluded.
Kurdish authorities
also report that there weren’t any Kurds among the hostages released in the
raid.
ISIS initially tried
to pretend that the raid was ineffective. Earlier in the week ISIS forces
released a statement saying that the raid failed to free any hostages. Their late video, though, changes that
narrative.

Obama Made At Least 9 False Claims About His Bio That The Media Ignored
The media firestorm that has erupted this past week
over alleged inconsistencies in Dr. Ben Carson’s life story has been
breathtakingly hypocritical. Not only is there no evidence that Carson
embellished any aspect of his personal biography, this kind of scrutiny was
never even remotely applied to President Obama when he was a candidate.
Here is a list of just some of the many inaccuracies
in Barack Obama’s personal bio that the media never bothered to investigate.
1. “Obama’s Staff Corrects WWII Story” (New York Times)
In response to a question at a Memorial Day appearance
in New Mexico, Mr. Obama said an uncle helped liberate the Nazi death camp at
Auschwitz during World War II. The problem? That story didn’t track with
history, considering Auschwitz was liberated by Soviet forces.
2. Selma Birth Connection (Independent Journal)
“[W]hen the president spoke before an audience in
Selma back in 2007, Obama credited the civil rights march as the inspiration
for his conception. The only problem with that, as conservative pundit Michelle Malkin points out, is that
the president was already three years old when the march occurred in 1965.”
3. “Obama Overstates Kennedys’ Role in Helping His Father” (Washington Post)
Addressing civil rights activists in Selma, Ala., a
year ago, Sen. Barack Obama traced his “very existence” to the generosity of
the Kennedy family, which he said paid for his Kenyan father to travel to
America on a student scholarship and thus meet his Kansan mother.
The Camelot connection has become part of the
mythology surrounding Obama’s bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

It is a touching story — but the key details are
either untrue or grossly oversimplified.
4. “Tale of British brutality toward Barack Obama’s grandfather probably
untrue, book claims” (The Telegraph)
It is a harrowing tale of torture in a colonial prison
in Kenya that is said to explain the President’s coolness towards Britain and
even his removal of Winston Churchill’s bust from the Oval Office.
David Maraniss, the author of Mr Obama’s most
comprehensive biography so far, said five associates of Hussein Onyango Obama
doubt he was even jailed. One told him: “People make up stories”. […]
… Maraniss claims that while “incidents of that
sort certainly happened”, it “seems unlikely” that Mr Obama’s grandfather was
one such victim. “Five people who had close connections to Hussein Onyango said
they doubted the story or were certain it did not happen,” he wrote in Barack Obama – The
Making of the Man.
5. The heroic story of Obama’s step-grandfather dying while
fighting the Dutch is untrue (New York Times)
Mr. Maraniss attributes some of the differences to the
kind of family lore that is often exaggerated. He notes that the story about
the death of Mr. Obama’s step-grandfather — allegedly killed while fighting
Dutch troops in Indonesia — was “a concocted myth in almost all respects.” Mr.
Maraniss writes that he died trying to hang drapes.
6. “Obama Lied About Mother’s Health Insurance Problem” (Commentary)
During the 2008 campaign and throughout the subsequent
debate over his health care legislation, President Obama used his mother’s experience
as a cancer patient fighting to get coverage to pay for treatment for what her
insurer said was a pre-existing condition as an emotional argument to sway
skeptics. However, a new book by New York Times reporter Janny Scott has
revealed this story appears to be a fabrication.
The Times reports today (in a story buried on page 14
rather than on the front page) that during the course of researching her
book, A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mother, Scott uncovered
correspondence showing “the 1995 dispute concerned a Cigna disability insurance
policy and that her actual health insurer had apparently reimbursed most of her
medical expenses without argument.” In response to inquiries, “a White House
spokesman chose not to dispute either Ms. Scott’s account or Mr. Obama’s
memory, while arguing that Mr. Obama’s broader point remained salient.”
7. Obama makes white Occidental College classmate “Regina” into
African-American aka “composite girlfriend” (Washington Times)
“During an interview in the Oval Office, Obama
acknowledged that, while Genevieve was his New York girlfriend, the description
in his memoir was a ‘compression’ of girlfriends, including one who followed
Genevieve [Cook] when he lived in Chicago,” Mr. Maraniss wrote in the new
biography.
“In ‘Dreams from My Father,’ Obama chose to emphasize
a racial chasm that unavoidably separated him from the woman he described as
his New York girlfriend,” wrote the author, who interviewed the woman. “None of
this happened with Genevieve. She remembered going to the theater only once
with Barack, and it was not to see a work by a black playwright.”
Mr. Maraniss said the president acknowledged this
scene did not happen with Ms. Cook.
In all the talk about David Maraniss’ new book,
“Barack Obama: The Story,” the chattering classes seem to have overlooked the
most significant of Maraniss’ revelations, namely that the story on which Obama
based his 2008 candidacy is “received myth, not the truth.”
“My parents shared not only an improbable love,” said
Obama famously in his 2004 Democratic Convention keynote, “they shared an
abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation.” This concept of
multicultural romance shaped his persona and his campaigns. […]
As Maraniss concedes, these two young people shared
very close to nothing. “In the college life of Barack Obama in 1961 and 1962,”
writes Maraniss, “as recounted by his friends and acquaintances in Honolulu,
there was no Ann; there was no baby.”
Although Maraniss talked to many of Obama Sr.’s
friends, none of the credible ones ever so much as saw him with Obama’s mother,
Ann Dunham.
9. Obama and his mother not “abandoned” by father in 1963 (Buzzfeed)
It’s in that context that Maraniss corrects a central
element of Obama’s own biography, debunking a story that Obama’s mother may
well have invented: That she and her son were abandoned in Hawaii in 1963.
“It was his mother who left Hawaii first, a year
earlier than his father,” Maraniss writes, confirming a story that had first
surfaced in the conservative blogosphere. He suggests that “spousal abuse”
prompted her flight back to Seattle.
Obama’s own fairy-tales, meanwhile, run toward Amercan
[sic] racial cliché.
At least 38 false accounts of President
Obama’s life story were documented in just the Maraniss biography, as counted by Buzzfeed
Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith.
Additional falsehoods have been detected in Obama’s
biographies, many of them apparently designed to further a narrative of overcoming racial
adversity and an underprivileged life.
That’s weird. I don’t remember reading a story
in Politico with the title “OBAMA LIED ABOUT FAMILY’S MILITARY SERVICE” or
“OBAMA FABRICATES SELMA STORY”.
The double standard that the media engaged in here is
stunning.
If Ben Carson enhanced his life story, that is wrong,
and he should be held accountable for it so the argument here is not two wrongs
make a right.
However, the media has a responsibility to search for
the truth in all situations regardless of political affiliation and they failed
miserably during the two times that Barack Obama ran for president.
On top of that, all indications point to the fact that
Ben Carson was telling the truth and he remains largely unscathed after weeks
of media scrutiny.
Bottom line, the media is terrified of Ben Carson.
Gowdy: There Will Never Be
Another Reagan

While addressing a Republican Club in
Florida, Benghazi Select Committee Chair and darling of the grassroots Trey
Gowdy had this to say:
Gowdy was tapped to give the keynote
address at the Volusia County Republican Party’s annual Lincoln Day dinner in
Daytona Beach, where he drew a crowd of just under 700 to the event.
During his address, Gowdy warned the group that those waiting for the next Ronald Reagan, or Abraham Lincoln, would be waiting a very long time for that day to come.
"And for those of you, who are waiting for another Reagan or Lincoln, you are going to have a very long wait. I don’t see our culture ever allowing someone to be that revere again. If you are waiting for a knight to ride in on a horse to rescue our party, I don’t think its going to happen."
During his address, Gowdy warned the group that those waiting for the next Ronald Reagan, or Abraham Lincoln, would be waiting a very long time for that day to come.
"And for those of you, who are waiting for another Reagan or Lincoln, you are going to have a very long wait. I don’t see our culture ever allowing someone to be that revere again. If you are waiting for a knight to ride in on a horse to rescue our party, I don’t think its going to happen."
Gowdy then went on to acknowledge the real individuals who made the country great-those who veterans who lay at Arlington National Cemetery, and everyday Americans that get up every morning to make a better life for themselves and their families.
Gowdy is right. The Republican party has
been in the wilderness on the national level for so long that many are looking
for a white knight to turn things around overnight. But perhaps it's time we
focused on coalescing around a broad national agenda that moves America
forward, instead of looking for a superhero to rescue us. We should instead
focus on finding principled men like Gowdy who offert honest leadership and can
work to advance that agenda effectively.

Despite overwhelming
opposition from the American people and lawmakers on Capitol Hill, it is
becoming clearer by the day President Obama is planning to close Guantanamo Bay
prison with or without the consent of Congress.
When asked about the
constitutionality of unilaterally closing the prison with an executive order,
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest admitted Monday that the legality of
such a move isn't clear, but hinted President Obama will do it anyway.
"The focus of
our efforts right now is on Congress and there are members of Congress who
share this goal [closing GITMO] and who have indicated at least an openness to
working with the administration to achieve this goal. That's the focus of our
efforts right now. I'm not aware of any ongoing effort to devise a strategy
using only the President's executive authority to accomplish this goal, but I
certainly wouldn't take that option off the table," Earnest told reporters
Monday. "There are a wide range of thorny, legal questions that are raised
by this ongoing effort to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. I wouldn't sort
of speculate on those right now. These are obviously, in some cases because of
the unique nature of this facility, in some cases we're in uncharted legal
waters here but, the President made clear from his first week in office that
closing the prison at Guantanamo Bay is a national security priority."
Over the year the
White House has slowly released GITMO prisoners in hopes the numbers will
become so low, Congress no longer sees the prison as financially viable. Last
summer, President Obama traded five top-Taliban commanders for alleged Army
deserter Bowe Bergdahl.
Later this week, a
report detailing how the administration plans to shut down the prison is
expected to be released by the Department of Defense.
The New Intolerance of
Student Activism
A fight over Halloween costumes at Yale has devolved
into an effort to censor dissenting views.
Professor Nicholas Christakis lives at Yale, where he presides over one
of its undergraduate colleges. His wife Erika, a lecturer in early childhood
education, shares that duty. They reside among students and are responsible for
shaping residential life. And before Halloween, some students complained to
them that Yale administrators were offering heavy-handed advice on what
Halloween costumes to avoid.
Erika Christakis reflected on the frustrations of the
students, drew on her scholarship and career experience, and composed an email inviting the community to think about the controversy
through an intellectual lens that few if any had considered. Her message was a
model of relevant, thoughtful, civil engagement.
For her trouble, a faction of students are now trying
to get the couple removed from their residential positions, which is to say,
censured and ousted from their home on campus. Hundreds of Yale students are
attacking them, some with hateful insults, shouted epithets, and a campaign of
public shaming. In doing so, they have shown an illiberal streak that flows
from flaws in their well-intentioned ideology.
Those who purport to speak for marginalized students
at elite colleges sometimes expose serious shortcomings in the way that their
black, brown, or Asian classmates are treated, and would expose flaws in the
way that religious students and ideological conservatives are treated too if
they cared to speak up for those groups. I’ve known many Californians who found
it hard to adjust to life in the Ivy League, where a faction of highly
privileged kids acculturated at elite prep schools still set the tone of a
decidedly East Coast culture. All else being equal, outsiders who also feel
like racial or ethnic “others” typically walk the roughest road of all.
That may well be true at Yale.
But none of that excuses the Yale activists who’ve
bullied these particular faculty in recent days. They’re behaving more like
Reddit parodies of “social-justice warriors” than coherent activists, and I
suspect they will look back on their behavior with chagrin. The purpose of
writing about their missteps now is not to condemn these students. Their young
lives are tremendously impressive by any reasonable measure. They are
unfortunate to live in an era in which the normal mistakes of youth are unusually
visible. To keep the focus where it belongs I won’t be naming any of them here.
The focus belongs on the flawed ideas that they’ve
absorbed.
Everyone invested in how the elites of tomorrow are
being acculturated should understand, as best they can, how so many cognitively
privileged, ordinarily kind, seemingly well-intentioned young people could lash
out with such flagrant intolerance.

What happens at Yale does not stay there.
With world-altering research to support, graduates who assume positions of extraordinary power, and a
$24.9 billion endowment to marshal for better or worse, Yale administrators
face huge opportunity costs as they parcel out their days. Many hours must be
spent looking after undergraduates, who experience problems as serious as clinical depression,
substance abuse, eating disorders, and sexual assault. Administrators also help
others, who struggle with financial stress or being the first in their families
to attend college.
It is therefore remarkable that no fewer than 13
administrators took scarce time to compose, circulate, and co-sign a letter advising adult students on how to dress for Halloween,
a cause that misguided campus activists mistake for a social-justice priority.
“Parents who wonder why college tuition is so high and
why it increases so much each year may be less than pleased to learn that their
sons and daughters will have an opportunity to interact with more
administrators and staffers—but not more professors,” Benjamin Ginsberg observed in Washington
Monthly back in
2011. “For many of these career managers, promoting teaching and research is
less important than expanding their own administrative domains.” All over America, dispensing Halloween costume
advice is now an annual ritual performed by college administrators.
Erika Christakis was questioning that practice when
she composed her email, adding nuance to a conversation that some students were
already having. Traditionally, she began, Halloween is both a day of subversion
for young people and a time when adults exert their control over their behavior:
from bygone, overblown fears about candy spiked with poison or razorblades to a
more recent aversion to the sugar in candy.
“This year, we seem afraid that college students are
unable to decide how to dress themselves on Halloween,” she wrote. “I don’t wish
to trivialize genuine concerns about cultural and personal representation, and
other challenges to our lived experience in a plural community. I know that
many decent people have proposed guidelines on Halloween costumes from a spirit
of avoiding hurt and offense. I laud those goals, in theory, as most of us do.
But in practice, I wonder if we should reflect more transparently, as a
community, on the consequences of an institutional (bureaucratic and
administrative) exercise of implied control over college students.”
It’s hard to imagine a more deferential way to begin
voicing her alternative view. And having shown her interlocutors that she
respects them and shares their ends, she explained her misgivings about the
means of telling college kids what to wear on Halloween:
I wanted to share my thoughts with you
from a totally different angle, as an educator concerned with the developmental
stages of childhood and young adulthood.
As a former preschool teacher... it is hard for me to
give credence to a claim that there is something objectionably “appropriative”
about a blonde haired child’s wanting to be Mulan for a day. Pretend play is
the foundation of most cognitive tasks, and it seems to me that we want to be
in the business of encouraging the exercise of imagination, not constraining
it.
I suppose we could agree that there is a difference
between fantasizing about an individual character vs. appropriating a culture,
wholesale, the latter of which could be seen as
(tacky)(offensive)(jejeune)(hurtful), take your pick. But, then, I wonder what
is the statute of limitations on dreaming of dressing as Tiana the Frog
Princess if you aren’t a black girl from New Orleans? Is it okay if you are
eight, but not 18? I don’t know the answer to these questions; they seem
unanswerable. Or at the least, they put us on slippery terrain that I, for one,
prefer not to cross.
Which is my point.
I don’t,
actually, trust myself to foist my Halloweenish standards and motives on
others. I can’t defend them anymore than you could defend yours.
When I was in college, a position of this sort taken
by a faculty member would likely have been regarded as a show of respect for
all students and their ability to think for themselves. She added, “even if we
could agree on how to avoid offense,” there may be something lost if
administrators try to stamp out all offense-giving behavior:
I wonder,
and I am not trying to be provocative: Is there no room anymore for a child or
young person to be a little bit obnoxious... a little bit inappropriate or
provocative or, yes, offensive? American universities were once a safe space
not only for maturation but also for a certain regressive, or even
transgressive, experience; increasingly, it seems, they have become places of
censure and prohibition. And the censure and prohibition come from above, not
from yourselves! Are we all okay with this transfer of power? Have we lost
faith in young people's capacity—in your capacity to exercise selfcensure,
through social norming, and also in your capacity to ignore or reject things
that trouble you?
In her view, students would be better served if
colleges showed more faith in their capacity to work things out themselves,
which would help them to develop cognitive skills. “Nicholas says, if you don’t
like a costume someone is wearing, look away, or tell them you are offended.
Talk to each other. Free speech and the ability to tolerate offence are
hallmarks of a free and open society,” she wrote. “But—again, speaking as a
child development specialist—I think there might be something missing in our
discourse about … free speech (including how we dress) on campus, and it is
this: What does this debate about Halloween costumes say about our view of
young adults, of their strength and judgment? In other words: Whose business is
it to control the forms of costumes of young people? It's not mine, I know
that.”
That’s the measured, thoughtful pre-Halloween email
that caused Yale students to demand that Nicholas and Erika Christakis resign their roles
at Silliman College. That’s how Nicholas Christakis came to stand in an
emotionally charged crowd of Silliman students, where he attempted to respond
to the fallout from the email his wife sent.
Watching footage of that meeting, a fundamental
disagreement is revealed between professor and undergrads. Christakis believes
that he has an obligation to listen to the views of the students, to reflect
upon them, and to either respond that he is persuaded or to articulate why he
has a different view. Put another way, he believes that one respects students
by engaging them in earnest dialogue. But many of the students believe that his
responsibility is to hear their demands for an apology and to issue it. They
see anything short of a confession of wrongdoing as unacceptable. In their
view, one respects students by validating their subjective feelings.
Notice that the student position allows no room for
civil disagreement.
Given this set of assumptions, perhaps it is no
surprise that the students behave like bullies even as they see themselves as
victims. This is most vividly illustrated in a video clip that begins with one
student saying, “Walk away, he doesn’t deserve to be listened to.”
At Yale, every residential college has a “master”––a
professor who lives in residence with their family, and is responsible for its
academic, intellectual, and social life. “Masters work with students
to shape each residential college community,” Yale states,
“bringing their own distinct social, cultural, and intellectual influences to
the colleges.” The approach is far costlier than what’s on offer at commuter
schools, but aims to create a richer intellectual environment where undergrads
can learn from faculty and one another even outside the classroom.
“In your position as master,” one student says, “it is
your job to create a place of comfort and home for the students who live in
Silliman. You have not done that. By sending out that email, that goes against
your position as master. Do you understand that?!”
“No,” he said, “I don’t agree with that.”
The student explodes, “Then why the fuck did you
accept the position?! Who the fuck hired you?! You should step down! If that is
what you think about being a master you should step down! It is not about
creating an intellectual space! It isnot! Do you understand that? It’s about creating a home
here. You are not doing that!”
The Yale student appears to believe that creating an
intellectual space and a home are at odds with one another. But the entire
model of a residential college is premised on the notion that it’s worthwhile
for students to reside in a campus home infused with intellectualism, even
though creating it requires lavishing extraordinary resources on youngsters who
are already among the world’s most advantaged. It is no accident that masters
are drawn from the ranks of the faculty.
The student finally declares, “You should not sleep at
night! You are disgusting!” Bear in mind that this is a student described by
peers with phrases like, to cite one example, “I've never known her to be
anything other than extremely kind, level-headed, and rational.” But her
apparent embrace of an ideology that tends toward intolerance produce a very
different set of behaviors.
In the face of hateful personal attacks like that,
Nicholas Christakis listened and gave restrained, civil responses. He later
magnanimously tweeted, “No one, especially no students exercising right to
speech, should be judged just on basis of short video clip.” (He is right.) And
he invited students who still disagreed with him, and with his wife, to
continue the conversation at a brunch to be hosted in their campus home.
In “The Coddling of the
American Mind,” Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt argued that too
many college students engage in “catastrophizing,” which is to say, turning
common events into nightmarish trials or claiming that easily bearable events
are too awful to bear. After citing examples, they concluded, “smart people do,
in fact, overreact to innocuous speech, make mountains out of molehills, and
seek punishment for anyone whose words make anyone else feel uncomfortable.”
What Yale students did next vividly illustrates that
phenomenon.
According to The Washington Post, “several
students in Silliman said they cannot bear to live in the college anymore.”
These are young people who live in safe, heated buildings with two Steinway
grand pianos, an indoor basketball court, a courtyard with hammocks and picnic
tables, a computer lab, a dance studio, a gym, a movie theater, a film-editing
lab, billiard tables, an art gallery, and four music practice rooms. But they
can’t bear this setting that millions of people would risk their lives to
inhabit because one woman wrote an email that hurt their feelings?
Another Silliman resident declared in a campus
publication, “I have had to watch my friends defend their right to this
institution. This email and the subsequent reaction to it have interrupted
their lives. I have friends who are not going to class, who are not doing their
homework, who are losing sleep, who are skipping meals, and who are having
breakdowns.” One feels for these students. But if an email about Halloween
costumes has them skipping class and suffering breakdowns, either they need
help from mental-health professionals or they’ve been grievously ill-served by
debilitating ideological notions they’ve acquired about what ought to cause
them pain.
The student next described what she thinks residential
life at Yale should be. Her words: “I don’t want to debate. I want to talk
about my pain.” In fact, students were perfectly free to talk about their pain.
Some felt entitled to something more, and that is what prolonged the debate—not
a faculty member who’d rather have been anywhere else.
As students saw it, their pain ought to have been the
decisive factor in determining the acceptability of the Halloween email. They
thought their request for an apology ought to have been sufficient to secure
one. Who taught them that it is righteous to pillory faculty for failing to
validate their feelings, as if disagreement is tantamount to disrespect? Their
mindset is anti-diversity, anti-pluralism, and anti-tolerance, a seeming
data-point in favor of April Kelly-Woessner’s provocative argument that “young people today are less politically tolerant
than their parents’ generation.”
Hundreds of Yale students have now signed an open
letter to Erika Christakis that is alarming in its own right, not least because
it is so poorly reasoned. “Your email equates old traditions of using harmful
stereotypes and tropes to further degrade marginalized people, to preschoolers
playing make believe,” the letter inaccurately summarizes. “This both
trivializes the harm done by these tropes and infantilizes the student body to
which the request was made.” Up is down. The person saying that adult men and
women should work Halloween out among themselves is accused of infantilizing
them. “You fail to distinguish the difference between cosplaying fictional
characters and misrepresenting actual groups of people,” the letter continues,
though Erika Christakis specifically wrote in her Halloween email, “I suppose
we could agree that there is a difference between fantasizing about an
individual character vs. appropriating a culture, wholesale, the latter of
which could be seen as (tacky)(offensive)(jejeune)(hurtful), take your pick.”
Hundreds of Yalies signed on to the blatant
misrepresentations of her text. The open letter continues:
In your
email, you ask students to “look away” if costumes are offensive, as if the
degradation of our cultures and people, and the violence that grows out of it
is something that we can ignore. We were told to meet the offensive parties
head on, without suggesting any modes or means to facilitate these discussions
to promote understanding.
This beggars belief. Yale students told to talk to
each other if they find a peer’s costume offensive helplessly declare that
they’re unable to do so without an authority figure specifying “any modes or
means to facilitate these discussions,” as if they’re Martians unfamiliar with
a concept as rudimentary as disagreeing in conversation, even as they publish
an open letter that is, itself, a mode of facilitating discussion.
“We are not asking to be coddled,” the open letter
insists. “The real coddling is telling the privileged majority on campus that
they do not have to engage with the brutal pasts that are a part of the
costumes they seek to wear.” But no one asserted that students should not be
questioned about offensive costumes––only that fellow Yale students, not
meddling administrators, should do the questioning, conduct the conversations,
and shape the norms for themselves. “We simply ask that our existences
not be invalidated on campus,” the letter says, catastrophizing.
This notion that one’s existence can be invalidated by a fellow 18-year-old donning an
offensive costume is perhaps the most disempowering notion aired at Yale.
It ought to be disputed rather than indulged for the
sake of these students, who need someone to teach them how empowered they are
by virtue of their mere enrollment; that no one is capable of invalidating
their existence, full stop; that their worth is inherent, not contingent; that
everyone is offended by things around them; that they are capable of tremendous
resilience; and that most possess it now despite the disempowering ideology
foisted on them by well-intentioned, wrongheaded ideologues encouraging them to
imagine that they are not privileged.
Here’s one of the ways that white men at Yale are most
privileged of all: When a white male student at an elite college says that he
feels disempowered, the first impulse of the campus left is to show him the
extent of his power and privilege. When any other students say they feel
disempowered, the campus left’s impulse is to validate their statements. This
does a huge disservice to everyone except white male students. It’s baffling
that so few campus activists seem to realize this drawback of emphasizing
victim status even if college administrators sometimes treat it as currency.
That isn’t to dismiss all complaints by Yale students.
If contested claims that black
students were turned away from a party due to their skin color are true, for example, that is outrageous. If any
discrete group of students is ever discriminated against, or disproportionately
victimized by campus crime, or graded more harshly by professors, then of
course students should protest and remedies should be implemented.
Some Yalies are defending their broken activist
culture by seizing on more defensible reasons for being upset. “The protests
are not really about Halloween costumes or a frat party,” Yale senior Aaron
Lewis writes.
“They’re about a mismatch between the Yale we find in admissions brochures and
the Yale we experience every day. They’re about real experiences with racism on
this campus that have gone unacknowledged for far too long. The university
sells itself as a welcoming and inclusive place for people of all backgrounds. Unfortunately, it often isn’t.”
But regardless of other controversies at Yale, its
students owe Nicholas and ErikaChristakis
an apology. And they owe apologies to other objects of their intolerance, too.
The most recent incident occurred over the weekend.
During a conference on freedom of speech, Greg Lukianoff reportedly said,
“Looking at the reaction to Erika Christakis’s email, you would have thought someone
wiped out an entire Indian village.” An attendee posted that quote to Facebook.
“The online Facebook post led a group of Native American women, other students
of color and their supporters to protest the conference in an impromptu
gathering outside of LC 102, where the Buckley event was taking place,” the Yale Daily Newsreported.
Around 5:45 p.m., as attendees began to
leave the conference, students chanted the phrase “Genocide is not a joke” and
held up written signs of the same words. Taking Howard’s reminder into account,
protesters formed a clear path through which attendants could leave.
A large
group of students eventually gathered outside of the building on High Street, where
several attendees were spat on, according to Buckley fellows who were
present during the conference. One Buckley Fellow added that he was spat on and
called a racist. Another, who identifies as a minority himself, said he has
been labeled a “traitor” by several.
These students were offended by one person’s words,
and were free to offer their own words in turn. That wasn’t enough for them, so
they spat on
different peoplewho listened to those words and called one minority
student a traitor to his race. In their muddled ideology, the Yale activists
had to destroy the safe space to save it.

Todo se
inició con un malintencionado comentario a principios del exilio cubano cuando
comenzaron a llegar los cubanos de la Isla que decía: “Tengan mucho cuidado con
el recién contratado janitor cubano porque dentro de poco será el
presidente de la compañía”.
Y también
trataban de mofarse diciendo que “Un perrito cubano se juntó con un perrito
puertorriqueño y el puertorriqueño le dijo al cubano: “¡Qué bueno que me
encontré con un perrito sato igual que yo!” Y el perrito cubano le respondió:
“Bueno, quizás tú me consideras un perro callejero aquí pero en Cuba yo era
Pastor Alemán”. Sí, hubo mucha coña y pujos contra nosotros pero cinco años
después aquel perrito habanero estaba en Hialeah viviendo mejor que
“Lassie” y el conserje cubano era el C.E.O. de la empresa.
¿Eran
chistes, eran sarcasmos o eran los primeros síntomas de la envidia que se
abalanzaría contra nosotros al paso de los años? Y ese es el motivo
principal de que bloquearan y les pusieran zancadillas a los artistas y
locutores cubanos en la televisión de habla hispana. De ahí provenían la sorna
anticubana de “Don Francisco” y el terror de “El Gordo y la Flaca” de
darse a conocer como cubanos.
Para
ponerles un solo ejemplo entre cientos: Efrén Besanilla era superior a todos
los comentaristas radiales del área, sin embargo nunca los envidiosos le dieron
el espacio que él merecía.
Lo que
pasaba -y sigue pasando- simplemente era que la mayoría de las inmigraciones en
este país está compuesta en un 90 ciento de personas humildes, de trabajadores
del campo, de obreros de la construcción y los que llegaban de la Isla
eran los más brillantes de sus hijos.
Y…mientras
muchísimos extranjeros hablaban mal -y siguen hablando- de los Estados Unidos,
se quejan de discriminación y de abusos cometidos por “La migra”, los cubanos
jamás se unieron a ese coro de protestantes y críticos. Al contrario, nosotros
constantemente lanzamos a los cuatro vientos y proclamamos lo agradecidos
que estamos por refugio que nos brinda esta gran nación.
Porque
Fidel Castro, digámoslo de una vez y por todas, le quitó todo a los
cubanos -y eso nosotros se lo hemos inculcado a nuestros hijos- les incautó
negocios, pulverizó las fortunas hechas con muchos sacrificios, se robó a la
nación y los obligó a salir con tres mudas de ropa, pero no pudo quitarles
los estudios realizados ni sus mentes privilegiadas.
Con
tremenda moral, sin bajar la cabeza, y sin quejarse podíamos ver a abogados,
médicos, dentistas, hacendados, y hasta miembros del Tribunal Supremo de
Justicia de Cuba, lavando platos en hoteles de Miami Beach.
Yo me fui
de Miami, estuve en New York, en el Ejército y en el “Jure”, y después de haber
vivido varios años en California regresé de vacaciones a Florida y a las dos
horas de estar allí me quedé frío y admirado del progreso de mis compatriotas.
Me pareció
como que Miami era una Cuba nueva, o mejor dicho una preciosa copia de la Cuba
próspera de ayer con banderas cubanas en cada esquina, con alcaldes
cubanos, con dueños de bancos cubanos, con policías y empresarios cubanos y
miles de florecientes negocios cubanos. Y mientras yo me sentí el más
orgulloso de los seres humanos había muchísima gente que resentía el éxito de
la generación más formidable que ha dado mi país. ¡Qué emoción fue notar que
los que triunfaron en nuestra nación de nuevo salieron adelante en el
extranjero! Pero, no todos compartían mi euforia.
Uno de los
días más felices de mi vida fue cuando uno de esos resentidos entrevistadores
-con toda la mala leche del mundo- le preguntó en la televisión a un
distinguido comerciante cubano: “¿Es verdad que ustedes los cubanos se creen
superiores al resto de los latinoamericanos?” Yo pensé que el cubano se iba a

nada SOMOS MEJORES QUE LOS NORTEAMERICANOS TAMBIÉN!”
Y ahora sí
que le estamos poniendo la tapa al pomo ¿ustedes no han visto los debates
Republicanos? A la legua se puede ver que los dos pichones de cubanos son mil
veces superiores al resto de los aspirantes del Partido del elefante.

Who Can
Beat Hillary? Among the current crop of Republican presidential candidates, which one has the best chance of beating Hillary Clinton? I have a special way of answering that question. I don’t depend on political gurus, veterans of past campaigns, TV panels, or opinion polls.
But opinion polls provide only a fleeting glimpse of where things stand at a particular moment in time. They are not predictive of where the American electorate will be months from now, on the eve of the presidential election. And so, when I’m asked who would give Hillary the biggest run for her money, I skip the gurus and the polls and refer to a much higher authority—the man Charlie Rose describes as “the best political animal that’s ever been in American politics.” I am, of course, referring to Bill Clinton. At the beginning of the presidential season, Clinton hoped that the Republicans would nominate Scott Walker, the combative governor of Wisconsin, who challenged and beat the public service unions in his state. Bill predicted that Richard Trumka, the president of the AFL-CIO, would spend hundreds of millions of dollars and mobilize a vast army of volunteers to assure a Hillary victory. Ciudadanos del Condado Miami:
Como muchos de ustedes saben he decidido postularme para ser el
Alcalde del Condado Miami para las elecciones del próximo 2016. Nuestra
candidatura es un poco Sui-Génesis. Nos estamos postulando pero no estaremos en
la boleta electoral. Los que deseen votar por mí: Tendran que escribir mi
nombre “Lazaro R Gonzalez” en un espacio en blanco que aparece en la boleta
para que ustedes voten por una persona que no se matriculo y no pago el dinero
que tiene que pagar al Departamento de Elecciones (Unos $1000 dolars) Tampoco
verán propagandas en el radio, televisión o periódicos. Todo lo que recibirán
de información de nuestra candidatura será atreves del Internet y de algún
amigo suyo que le envíen directamente a ustedes. De hecho les pido a todas las
personas que están de acuerdo de que se acabe este gigantesco descaro que
tienen casi todos los políticos de Miami desde hace mucho tiempo. Yo voy a
acabar con este descaro y relajo. ¿Porque lo hago? Porque ya estoy cansado y
aburrido de que todos estos personajes se sigan riendo y burlándose de todos
nosotros. No se si se recuerdan que hace unos años que me enfrente junto con
ustedes al exalcalde Carlos Álvarez en un Recall. Ahora nos enfrentaremos a
otro Carlos pero Gimenes, más o menos la misma “M” La paciencia de los pueblos
tiene límite y a veces provocar a los pueblos puede terminar mal. Se recuerdan
cuando la ciudad de “Bell” en California que tomaron la alcaldía con alcalde y
comisionados y los llevaron a patadas por donde ustedes saben, hasta la cárcel
y aun los tienen en ese hotel de 0 estrellas. “Siempre he soñado que aquí se
haga lo mismo pero aparentemente mis deseos no se cumplirá. Y es por eso que
opto por otra solución. Vamos a sacarlo por una solución electoral. Si de
verdad desean que esto sea un lugar decente para vivir donde no les esquilmen
el bolsillo todos estos personajes y los fuercen a que los respeten como
ciudadanos. Yo les ofrezco mi persona para cambiar todo este relajo y falta de respeto
por un sistema que sea lo que ustedes desean y necesitan. Al final de esta
edicion de este “En mi opinión” esta nuestro proyecto de gobierno para cuando
seamos electos.

También nos pidieron “Los intocables de la Comision de Educacion” al el pueblo de Miami aprobó que se le dieran
Doce mil Millones de dólares para el Departamento de Educación para
reparar las escuelas. También me pregunto a donde se fue todos los millones que
recaudan de impuestos a los ciudadanos todos los años La comisión de Educacion.
Yo no he visto ni siquiera un persona con una brocha pintando una escuela o
cogiendo una gotera en los techos.
Giménez no hablo nada mas de los autos de la policía que recientemente
se encontraron un edificio de parqueo con cientos o miles de carros para el
condado o la policía, supuestamente destinados a la policía, que se estaban
pudriendo en un parque porque nadie los uso. La prensa formo el escándalo y
todo el mundo se disgustó y protesto. Pero nada paso. Quién es el culpable de
que esto ocurriera. A quien despidieron?
¿A quién han puesto en la cárcel?. Tampoco Gimenes no hablo nada del el Jefe de
la policía de Miami apareció muerto en su propia casa; primero dijeron que
había sido asesinado, y después entonces lo suicidaron y de pronto la prensa no
hablo más del asunto y todo el mundo se quedó “El dinero cierra las bocas” Por fin se suicido o lo suicidaros. Y aquí paz y en el cielo gloria: Sun Centinel. Tuesday Oct. 6, 2015. Otro de
los problemas más acuciantes es la locura del incremento de los taxes de la
propiedad. En esto hay algo que es repugnante por parte del departamento de
taxar las propiedades de Miami, porque ellos han dicho que no han subido los
impuestos, gracias al buen trabajo del alcalde y el que está a cargo de los
taxes. Yo pienso que lo que hay es una falta de respeto a la inteligencia de
los ciudadanos porque SI SE SUBIEROSN
LOS TAXES. El amillaramiento que es el valor de los taxes que se le
graban a usted lo fijaron creo que alrededor de un 1 % O sea que si se pusieron
impuestos pero no solo eso sino que Los taxes que ustedes pagan están tasados
sobre el valor de su propiedad y EL VALOR DE LA PROPIEDAD SI FUE ELEVADO “Y
MUCHO ESTE ANO” ALGO QUE LO HACEN TODOS LOS ANOS. Así que eso de decir que los
taxes no fueron aumentados, es mentira… Comparen lo
que pagan este 2015 con lo que pagaron en el 2014 y vean si les cobran más o
no. Yo considero que cuando usted compra una casa. Esa casa mantine por
siempre ese valor. A menos que usted le haga mejores o adiciones esa casa no
cambia de precio. Y es asi como yoconsidero que deben hacer las cosas. “Ningun
aumento de taxes de la propiedad a menos que se le hagan obras que ameriten
subir su precio.
Yo creo que en el condado hay demasiadas personas “Trabajando” y
Cobrando muchísimos más dinero que los que normalmente ganan los ciudadanos que
no trabajan en el condado. ¿Por Qué?
Porque es muy fácil gastar el dinero de los ciudadanos que tontamente se
dejan quitar el dinero en taxes y toles, por los políticos. Tenemos “5 nuevos Virreyes”
digo “vice alcaldes”. Unas posiciones que nunca habían existido en el Condado
Miami. Solo teníamos un administrador y ya!!! Que invento es ese. ¿Es que los
Virreyes son amigos del alcalde y el los acomodo?
Sabían ustedes que el hijo del alcalde es uno de los CABILDEROS más
influyentes en el Condado Miami en que su papa es el alcalde. Dice un vecino
mío que todo queda en casa. Es legal que el hijo de un alcalde sea cabildero
donde su papa es el que “ordena y manda”. Es esto ilegal o legal???
El crimen es altísimo en Miami, Yo creo que es más alto que en toda la
historia de Miami. Y todos los días aumenta mucho más. Los noticieros de la
televisión todos los días llenan los espacios de noticias “Sangrientas” de asesinatos y todos los días
es así. Los casos de tráfico de drogas son cada vez más populares y más dañinos
y terribles. ¿Qué pasa la policía está de vacaciones permanente? El transito es un verdadero infierno en las
calles y carreteras. Decenas de accidentes son el pan nuestro de cada día.
Muertes y personas mutiladas es el saldo de todos los días. Las autopistas son sucursales de las
funerarias y los Hospitales. Las calles están más atiborradas de autos y cada
día hay más accidentes, las calles son francamente sucursales de un manicomio
de primera clase. Y que hace el gobierno (Nada) Dicen en la TV que el tiempo de
la luz amarilla le han quitado tiempo para poder ponerle un ticket a los que
doblan a la derecha en los semáforos y eso ha creado más accidentes. .
En Hialeah se ha terminado hace más de un año una purificadora de agua
y nadie se ha podido tomar todavía un vaso de agua porque no sirve lo que
purifica. Quien estuvo a cargo de esto, cuando van a meter a un político en la
cárcel y le van a quitar todo lo que se robó. Pero no aquí no pasa nada. En
varas de las ciudades del condado se están poniendo a políticos a disposición
de la policía. (Espero que la policía haga algo) Con respeto lo único que hace
la policía es levantar el acta y mandarle a los que han sido saqueando una
copia del acta y ya!
Aquí se encontró un grupos de personas que se dedicaban a recoger
boletas ausentes y luego llenarlas fraudulentamente y colocarlas en el
Departamento de Elecciones y así llenaban las posiciones de los políticos
pésimos que ahora tenemos. Y las boleteras aparecieron retratadas con el alcalde,
muy sonriente todos. Esto es un desparpajo.
Tenemos una fuente de saqueo a los ciudadanos de Miami y de todo el
estado de la Florida que es la que es La lotería de La Florida, donde nadie
sabe quién es el que se gana el premio. Alguien me puede decir porque solamente
aquí hay tres lugares en que se juega: Los Micosuky, Los Perros y El hipódromo
de Hialeah. Porque estas tres entidades son los UNICOS que tienen derecho a
expoliar a los jugadores. Estas entidades que yo sepa no contribuyen a nada en
el Condado. Porque no se aprobó un casino ahí en donde estaba El Herald. POR
QUE? Porque unos si y otros no, eso en
La Isabela se llama ¡FAVORITISMO! ¡o COBRAR La Gabela”. Nosotros podemos tener un sistema como el de las Vegas… Miami es
más, mucho mejor. Podemos invitar a La mujer del Raton Mike de Orlando, a que
su esposa se bañe en tanguita en la playa mientras Mickey Mouse juega en un
casino como los de Las Vegas y que tengan que dejar impuestos en Miami y así
disminuir los abusivos taxes del gobierno condal de Miami. Que alguien me diga
porque esto no se puede hacer. De todas maneras nos están saqueando con la
Lotería de La Florida, donde nunca se quién se la saca. Mientras que en todos
los mercados de Miami y gasolineras etc. Te venden los tickes de la Lotería Saqueadora
de los bolsillos de los trabajadores.
Nadie me puede justificar porque aquí se cobran todos esos asfixiantes
taxes, Tolls y otros cobros que son muchísimos, tan exagerados y asfixiantes
contra los ciudadanos del Condado Miami. Porque con los miles de millones que
genera el Puerto de Miami y los otros miles de millones que genera el
aeropuerto de Miami. Estos dos solos colosos Generan dinero más que suficiente
para mantener las calles de Miami pavimentadas con Plata Mejicana. ¿En que se
gasta ese dineral? Porque no se
presentan en público todo el dinero que generan estas dos entidades y en que se
malgastan. Eso es si tocar todos los muchos generadores de dinero al condado.
El transporte de pasajeros en Miami es una porquería, las guaguas
están sucias vienen cuando les da la gana y casi siempre vienen atrasadas y
medio bacías. Porque el pueblo no las usa. PORQUE SON INEFICIENTES E
INSUFUCIENTES PARA TODO EL QUE DESEARIA USARLAS. El un dinero que se derrocha y
que no resuelve ningún problema. Se debe vender todo este sistema de trasporte
a particulares y que ellos que si saben transportar personas sea las que se
ocupen de resolver el problema. Ademas toda esa GIGANTESCA NOMINA DE
TRABAJADORES DEL TRANSPORTE Se eliminaría de cuajo y ellos pasarían a trabajar
en la empresa privada como debe ser. Ustedes se recuerdan cuando algunos
particulares pusieron guaguas a dar servicio por donde los Miamenses
necesitaban ir y aquello se hizo muy popular. Creo que le decían “La Conchita”
Lo que pasa que como siempre el gobierno es inepto y eso tiene que cambiar.
Aquí tenemos una organización que se lama “El Children Trust” que no
se puede saber dónde van todos los dineros que le sacan a los propietarios de
casas. La forma en que esa organización despilfarra el dinero no es posible de
auditar y ver donde se usa todos los millones que les sacan en los taxes de la
propiedad a los ciudadanos. Porque no se puede auditar las finanzas del
“Children Trust” donde se despilfarra nuestro dinero. Este es otro de los
canceres económicos que padecen los contribuyentes de Miami.
Nosotros tenemos el mejor lugar del MUNDO para vacacionar, playas,
restaurantes, podemos hacer casinos, cabaret’s y Parques temáticos, Tenemos los
moles más bonitos y mejor surtidos del mundo. Pero no hacemos nada porque
estamos rodeados de enanos anormales que son electos. Y el pueblo duerme el
“Sueño eterno” ¿Y nadie despierta? Parece mentira que la industria permite al
gobierno manteniendo a Miami como una aldea retrograda.
Porque no se ha invitado y se les da facilidades a las grandes
corporaciones de producción de películas de Hollywood a que vengan aquí a hacer
películas y que establezcan estudios aquí. Las Películas de playas no podrán
ser mejores que aquí porque el frio del agua de California le pone los pelos de
punta a cualquiera que se meta en el agua. Aquí el agua es calentica y las
playas no puedes ser más bellas.
Los
noticieros de la TV y Los periódicos diariamente
están llenos de cadáveres (Parecen cementerios todos los días) porque los accidentes.
La ciudad es un expendido de drogas de todos los colores y sabores. Y la policía bien gracias. Los Miembros de
los algunos gobiernos de los diferentes municipios terminan en las cárceles
porque son unos delincuentes, Las oficinas de los gobiernos es una extensión de
la familia de los Alcaldes y otros funcionarios. Otros terminan en manos de la policía porque
hacen cosas locas en Motos o automóviles borrachos conduciendo a mucha más de
la velocidad permitida. Otros se dedican a robar los bienes de los ciudadanos.
Tenemos una falta de moral, decencia y legalidad. Pudiera estar escribiendo
cientos de páginas más de miserias y violaciones y burlas a los ciudadanos por
los gobernantes. Yo siempre he estado esperando que el pueblo de Miami forme un “motín” como el que ocurrió en el
pequeño pueblo de Bell en California, donde el pueblo tomo la alcandía y llevo
hasta la cárcel a patadas por los fondillos a los comisionados y al alcalde
donde todavía están ahí por ladrones y descarados. El problema del despilfarro de los gastos del
gobierno condal en Miami. El 60% de los ingresos del condado se gastan en
pensiones y salarios. El alcalde actual recibirá una pensión de $150,000.
Tenemos demasiadas personas cobrando altos salarios y pensiones.
En el condado casi nada funciona bien. Existen
50,000 personas que están esperando en la lista del programa Plan 8. Varios
edificios que están semi abandonados y que se están cayendo a pedazos
fabricados y carecen de estacionamientos. “Ahora mismo hay uno en West Kendall
que los construyeron pero está vacío porque tienen que dar casi $4,000 dólares
para poder vivir ahí. “El alcalde Giménez en los últimos dos años se ha
enfocado en lo que se llama “Workforce Housing” el ha dado propiedades de Miami
Dade, terrenos de Miami Dade para construir casas que se están ofreciendo a
$170 mil dólares y esas casas no se le están vendiendo a las personas que están
en listas de espera y no tiene un proceso aprobado por el departamento de
vivienda a nivel de Washington”, ahora están hablando de gastarse más de $70
millones de dólares en el proyecto Liberty Squere. Hay una crisis en el
departamento de viviendas de Miami Dade. Actualizar la lista de las personas
que esperan por vivienda sería un buen paso para comenzar a reparar el daño, el sistema de computadoras que tiene el
condado, señalando “que es anticuado”. “Hace aproximadamente 6 meses el
gobierno federal encontró que el departamento de viviendas públicas de Miami
Dade, había dado más de $2 millones de dólares erróneamente a compañías que no
cumplieron con el requisito federal, y que decidió Carlos Giménez “pues Giménez
decidió pagar la multa, no con el dinero que tenemos ahora, sino con el dinero
que vamos a recibir para las viviendas en dos años”. De acuerdo con el alcalde
Giménez, “en Washington no hay dinero y que el estado no le quiere dar dinero
al condado Miami Dade”.
Quieren vivir en un lugar decente, donde no malgasten su dinero ni le
cobren taxes donde el dinero no se usa para el bienestar de los ciudadanos y la
comunidad y vivir con tranquilidad y
legalidad. Yo soy la persona que quiero y lo puede hacer que eso sea una
realidad. Si ustedes me apoyan estoy dispuesto hacerlo. Los que quieren votar
por mi tendrán que hacerlo en la boleta en blanco. No habrá propaganda en TV o
periódicos ni pasquines. No recogeremos dinero para campaña, ni para nada. Lo
que podemos haremos es poner los anuncios en mi sitio Web y en mi página “En mi
opinión” Ustedes pueden copiar mis mensajes y ponerlos en sus sitio web y en
Facebook. Coméntenlo con sus amigos y familiares. Así es que le vamos a ganar a
los que no se merecen ser sus representantes en el gobierno.
